The 1-to-1 programme follows the same proven Five Shifts framework as the group programme, but every element is shaped around your specific situation. Before we begin, Barry takes the time to understand exactly where you are, what's costing you most, and what needs to shift first.
A deep-dive intake conversation
Before the programme begins, you and Barry spend time understanding your specific situation ā your relationship patterns, your history, your triggers, and what you most want to change. This shapes everything that follows. No two programmes look the same.
Weekly 90-minute sessions
Every week, you meet with Barry for a full 90-minute coaching session. This is your time ā to work through what's alive for you right now, to practise new skills, to examine what's still getting in the way, and to be challenged and supported in equal measure. Sessions are held online via Zoom.
Personalised practices between sessions
Each week you leave with specific practices, tailored to your situation, not a generic curriculum. Reflection prompts, real-world experiments, body awareness exercises, and NVC-based practices that connect directly to what you're working on. The work doesn't stop when the session ends.
Direct support throughout
Between sessions, you have direct access to Barry by message for questions, reflections, or moments when you need a steer. You're not left to figure it out alone in the spaces between.
Integration and forward planning
The final sessions consolidate everything, the shifts you've made, the patterns you've interrupted, the man you're choosing to become. You'll leave with a clear, personal practice to carry forward, and a genuine sense of what ongoing support, if any, makes sense for you.

The Five Shifts are the backbone of the programme. In the 1-to-1 context, each shift is explored in depth, at the pace you need, with direct attention to how it shows up in your specific relationships and patterns.

My name is Barry Jones. I'm an internationally certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication, and I work with men who carrying patterns they didn't choose and struggle to show up the way they want to for the people they love.
I didn't come to this work as an outside observer. I've lived the conditioning I'm describing, the chin up, man up, be strong instruction that most of us absorbed without choosing it. I've experienced addiction and my own mental health challenges. I know what it costs to keep the mask on.
In the 1-to-1 programme, I bring everything I have, my training, my experience, and my genuine care for the man in front of me and to your specific situation. This is not generic coaching. It is close, honest, and built entirely around you.
